ELKOS Insurance Company

«ELKOS» insurance JSC, created in 1992, entered the financial trust of «Borodino» Group of Companies in May of 2007. From 1999 till 2012 ELKOS was a part of the financial and industrial group «Baltic Constructional Company». The main direction of the activity of the FIG «BCC» - transport and industrial construction – defined the company strategic development. Within the framework of the BCC projects the following large objects of the construction and installation works, insured by ELKOS, can be defined: a complex reconstruction of the railway line from St. Petersburg to Moscow (insurance amount of 1,03 B rubles), electrification of the railway section «Idel-Svir» (insurance amount of 4,9 B rubles), construction of the route «Ulak-Elga» (insurance amount of 1,5 B rubles). Since the creation Elkos has been working as a universal insurance company, which besides the insurance of construction and installation risks has accumulated a great experience in the insurance of transport, property and cargo transportation risks. After having withdrawn from the founding members of Baltic Construction Company in spring of 2005 ELKOS significantly reduced the volumes of its activity. For moving to a new level of the development, the company needed a strong and experienced partner, which became «Borodino» Group of Companies.
The created insurance reserves and reliable partners for reinsurance allow the company to provide their clients with an all-around insurance coverage and to ensure an operative execution of the undertaken liabilities. Among ELKOS clients there is a number of the largest industrial enterprises, constructional organizations, institutions of higher education, and various entrepreneur structures.
Today ELKOS has a license for 24 types of insurance and reinsurance, which embraces almost the whole range of insurance services for legal entities and individuals. Focusing on the market tendencies and demand opportunities, ELKOS in the nearest future will concentrate its efforts on attraction of private and corporate clients. Taking into account an active development of investment and construction business of «Borodino» Group of Companies one of ELKOS priority directions as before will remain the insurance of construction risks. The strategy of the company development includes modernization of sales technologies, build-up of a full branch and agent network, as well as the company active participation in bids and tenders.
